Design Blast”, the international design conference at the University of Arts and Design Karlsruhe, is starting into its second round. After the great success of last year’s event, which attracted over 500 people interested in design from all parts of Germany last year, the new conference is being held on June 12th 2009.

This year’s event is devoted to women. Six young and most successful female designers from Europe are invited. The designers aged between 22 and 37 years have brilliantly mastered their career entry and will demonstrate with what a stance and which works they succeeded in this. Furthermore “Design Blast” promises to offer its audience – as was the case last year – an outlook on upcoming trends and tendencies in design.
For instance the food designer Marije Vogelzang (Amsterdam) will present her new ideas and concepts for the handling of food. Shooting star Kate Moross (London) will demonstrate how she bewitched the English advertising and music scene with her enormous creative output. The German designer Catrin Altenbrandt from Pixelgarten (Frankfurt) will show how she conquered the three-dimensional space with her graphic design. Likewise present are the outstanding designers Luna Maurer (Amsterdam), Emma Thomas from the design office APFEL (London), and Kasia Korczak (Brussels).
